Scat
In vocal jazz, scat singing is vocal improvisation with wordless vocables, nonsense syllables or without words at all. Scat singing gives singers the ability to sing improvised melodies and rhythms, to create the equivalent of an instrumental solo using their voice. ~ Wikipedia

Below are segments from twelve different, not completely obscure, semi-recognizable pop(ish, depending on your age) songs, each containing (debatable & varying degrees of) scat.  How many can you identify without (a) clicking on the links or (b) resorting to Google?

I predict that nobody will successfully identify all twelve songs without help.

And for what it’s worth, the difficult part of this post was not finding the “scat” (such as it is), but in arranging it into a quasi-poem/song of sorts.  There’s plenty of scat to choose from, but selecting dissimilar scat that rhymes and flows…that was a little challenging.

Ah ha me a riddle a day-ee-ay
zippity doo dah, zippa de yay
What you say? <= not really scat

Hidey Hidey Hidey Hi (Ho-dee, ho-dee, ho-dee ho)
Doo doo doo doo dingle, zing a dong bone
Yeah, No, Yeah, No, Yeah, No, Yeah, No <= not really scat

oom poppa, oom poppa, oom papa, mow mow* <= listen at your own risk!
Bop boddy, shooby do… (notice the smooth transition to the next line!)
Wash ufenzi, drive me to ferenzie <= debatable scatishness

boyzee boyzee bop, zitty… (another smooth transition)
Bop bop a lu bop a whop bam… (and another)
boom chagga lagga lagga, boom chagga lagga lagga, boom chagga lagga lagga boom <= scat by a stretch and/or a technicality (and debatable at that)

Post your hit:miss ratio in comments, if you’re proud of your effort!

* I am sorry.  Really, and truly I am.  That was/is arguably uncalled for.  If it makes you feel any better, I couldn’t get the song out of my head after hearing it either.
