Project Runway Recap

project-runway-…-0709bsc425As a costume designer, I know my costumes and love the fantastical and extravagant.  This week’s “Movie Genre “winning look was neither.  Nicolas presented a stereotypical ice-queen dress straight out of Narnia, but without the fabulous Tilda Swinton.  I loved Epperson’s western dress and can’t believe the judges overlooked him.

Top 3 Project Runway Episode 6 Moments:

Hot Green Mess.  Oh Ra’mon, Ra’mon, Ra’mon…. who told you that ladies like to look like green amphibians? That person was not your friend and you need to ignore their advice from now on!  A spandex body suit and fake snake skin pasted over the crotch is not flattering.

Glitter hobo.  Heidi was very…INTERESTING, as my mother would say.  A long-sleeved grungy, t-shirt top with sequined black leggings. HOT.

Snooze-fest.  Louise sent a disgruntled dress down the runway this episode.  Boring and unsure of what time period it was trying to be, the little black number managed to make film noir look lame.  Not an easy task, well done Louise.

The two-hour replacement dress Ra’mon tacked together failed to impress the judges, although in my opinion it didn’t warrant his elimination.   While it might have looked scary in person, I thought it looked kinda cool on the small screen.  It was certainly no more out there than the dress Nicolas built, and certainly more interesting than both Louise and Gordana’s dresses.  I would have picked him to stay on for another few shows and sent Gordana packing instead; her past few looks have been dull and unoriginal and frankly, I’m just ready for her to go home.

Couldn’t agree more…I loved Epperson’s dress and thought it should have won.
    And I can’t believe Ra’mon got eliminated…LAME.

I thought Chris’ vampire bride should have won, and Gordana should have gone home. I definitely think both Gordana and Louise will be going home eventually, but Ra’mon could have made it all the way! This was one of the lamest episodes…

Ra’mon should have stayed. He has way more talent than most of them. Nicholas is getting on my last nerve and his taste is mostly in his mouth. Can you say catty? Send home Louise.
